                 Find Your Bluegrass Jam!

SEND US A GOOD PICTURE WITH ANY BLUEGRASS SUBJECT, WE WILL FEATURE IT HERE!

Hey Bluegrass Fan, you found us!

Short and sweet:  The purpose of this web site is to hook you up in a bluegrass jam.  Wouldn't it be fun to know exactly where folks are playing, and when?  Not the opry's or shows, but just the jams, even house jams.  And, if you don't find one in your area simply list the jam and sooner or later you'll have participants.

I'm looking for folks to maintain a jam list in their state!!! Please email patrick@bluegrassfever.com to volunteer or find out more info.

It's amazing that there doesn't appear to be a really good source for that.  This is a brand new effort as of June 2, 2008.   We now have a good start with Texas.  Notice on the listing it's sorted by County - and the list gives you contact info to update or correct.  We have one link to Kentucky but what we need is a volunteer to maintain a spreadsheet, similar to the Texas format so the good folks there can go jam! I am looking for volunteers to be the "Statewide Jam Coordinators" (SJC).  For the moment I will do it for Texas but I would be willing to be fired from that if you want to do it.

For an example of the information I'm asking each SJC to keep current, click this link -> Texas.

Now, you'll notice is very light (I just started).  Here's what I propose.  If you take on the job of SJC for a state, I'll simply ask you to send me a simple HTML page or spreadsheet with the jam information.  I will upload it.  I'll upload it whenever you send it for now, once we get farther down the road I might ask you hold you updates to once a month.

As for the format, you can either use the Texas format or propose something different, your call!  The main thing is that you get the basic required info.  In your state it may make sense to group the jams by county.  Other states maybe by City.  Still others maybe by precinct or zip code.

Pretty easy.  I'm not asking anyone for money.  Sooner or later to cover the server and bandwidth costs we might try and get some sponsors.

Click here to contact Patrick Bouldin to volunteer to be your state's SJC or find out more about it.

Thanks to Kevin Lynch for this info.  Please note there is a link at the bottom to update for jams - and, I'm assuming if you want to establish a house jam they would list it.
